One thing worth checking on the way out: page-level extraction carries the page content but not necessarily every document-level feature. Bookmarks pointing at pages that are no longer in the file, form field relationships spanning multiple pages, and some annotations can behave differently in the split output than they did in the original. For plain text and image pages — which is most documents — the result is a faithful copy.
