Projects start with scope rather than with design. Before anything is drawn we establish what the site or application has to achieve, who maintains it afterwards, and which constraints are real — an integration that must work, a launch date tied to something external, a brand system that cannot be changed. Most projects that go badly go badly because one of those surfaced late.
Design and build then run close together rather than as separate handover stages. Work is shown early and often on a real URL you can open on your own phone, because a staging link tells you things a static mockup cannot — how it feels on a slow connection, whether the tap targets are reachable, whether the text still reads at the size it will actually be.
Performance and search are handled during the build rather than bolted on afterwards. Image sizing, layout stability, rendering strategy and crawlability are decisions made while a page is being built; retrofitting them later means rebuilding the same page twice. The same applies to accessibility basics — heading structure, contrast, keyboard navigation and alternative text cost nothing when done as you go.
The default is a modern JavaScript stack because it suits most of what clients ask for, but the default is not automatic. A brochure site for a business that updates it twice a year does not need a custom application, and recommending one would be selling complexity rather than solving a problem. WordPress or a managed platform is sometimes the honest answer, and we will say so.
Where a custom build is right, the questions that matter are who edits the content, what it has to integrate with, and what happens as it grows. Those determine the architecture far more than any preference about frameworks.
Whatever gets built, it is yours. Standard technology, code you own, hosting you control and no dependency on us to keep it running. Some clients stay on a maintenance arrangement and others take the site and run it themselves — both are fine, and the build is done the same way either way.
